The two palms

Located within the historic settlement of Kamilari in southern Crete, two residences exude a contemporary interpretation of traditional Cretan elements. Traditional plaster meets the ancient art of dry stone walling, separating the two homes with a seam that narrates stories of the land. The architectural play with volumes, angles, and austerity forms a sense of relaxing calmness, reflecting the pulse of southern Crete.

The wooden shutters and pergolas add a rhythmic texture, playing with light and shadow, offering residents aesthetic privacy. The homes incorporate the harmony of the natural surroundings with tropical plants and exotic palms, defining a space that breathes with the rhythm of the sea and the Cretan earth.
