Our project “Volakas” constitutes an architectural combination of two residences, uniquely designed with inspiration from the eponymous rock that imposingly dominates within the sea. Positioned in a rugged location, the complex blends traditional local character with modern lines and amenities, organizing the vital space around the natural landscape and the direct view towards the Volaka rock.
The exterior of the residences is characterized by the seamless integration of stone walls with dry stone masonry that draw elements from the natural environment, offering a sense of durability and timelessness. The use of wooden shutters and coverings adds warmth and enhances the rustic aesthetic, while openings from the courtyards integrate the interior with the outside world, bringing the light and air of the Mediterranean into the indoor spaces.
